PS 1510 - COLDWAR:SOVIET UNION AND WEST 1917-91Minimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 This course is designed to help students understand the central question in world politics during much of the 20th century-the relationship between the West and the Soviet Union from 1917 to 1991. The course surveys the Western response to the formation of the USSR as the first "socialist" state and to the international communist movement which developed under its leadership from 1917 to 1991.
