SPAN 1260 - OVERVIEW OF SPANISH LITERATUREMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 This course provides a broad overview of Spanish literature from the Middle Ages to the present in its historical, cultural, aesthetic, and social context. Reading chronologically, we will engage particularly with questions of identity, both personal and collective, and of authorship and the formation of the canon, in order to discover how we can read "Spain" through Spanish art and literature and to what extent the "idea of Spain" emerges from its own literary culture.
