LING 1578 - PHONETICS AND PHONEMICSMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 This course provides an introduction to the production, recognition, and transcription of speech sounds in various languages of the world, and to the patterning of these sounds in phonological systems. Emphasis is on articulatory phonetics, though there is also some discussion of acoustic and experimental phonetics.
