PUBSRV 1430 - TRIAL ADVOCACY 1Minimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 This course examines the mechanics of American civil and criminal litigation in both nonjury and jury trials. Topics include basic case analysis, effective advocacy skills, appropriate professional conduct, trial preparation, direct and cross examination of lay witnesses, and an introduction to the legal concepts of relevance and hearsay within the context of the federal rules of evidence. Students will participate in intensive class discussions and in-class presentations.
