CDENT 5930 - OVERVIEW AND PRACTICE OF DENTAL PUBLIC HEALTH

This selective course will be available for second, third, and fourth year students. The course material will cover common primary preventive interventions and its incorporation at a community level such as fluoridation, school-based programs, health promotion, sealant programs, health policy initiatives, etc. It will also include discussion on an interdiscliplinary approach to community level preventive practices. Finally, the course will also discuss the role of dental public health outside traditional dental practice - such as in federal and national health organizations, as well as underserved areas.
