BCHS 3506 - IMPLEMENTATION SCIENCE IN PUBLIC HEALTHMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 The purpose of this course is to prepare students with the knowledge and skills to conduct implementation science within the field of public health. Although evidence-based interventions are widely available, they are underutilized to address a wide variety of public health challenges. We will examine barriers that exist with respect to the implementation of evidence-based interventions (EBIs) and strategies to overcome these barriers. Specific topics include strategies to identify EBIs, assessing and strengthening organizations' and communities' readiness to utilize EBIs, dissemination and scaling up, cultural adaptation of EBIs, and implementation science theories and conceptual frameworks.
