CEE 2331 - PLATES AND SHELLSMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 This course focuses on the theory of plates and shells and the analytical and numerical solutions to problems associated with plates and shells. Topics covered include classical plate and plate buckling theories and solution methods including Navier, Levy, Ritz and the finite difference method. Topics in shell theory will include membrane and bending stresses. Examples will include cylindrical shells, pipes, tanks and pressure vessels.
