HRS 2454 - LEAN SIX SIGMA AND OTHER IMPROVEMENT METHODOLOGIES IN HEALTH CARE

This class will explore the concepts of process management and improvement methodologies including Six Sigma, Lean/Toyota production system/operational excellence, theory of constraints, PDCA, Baldridge and others and their application to healthcare management. The student should be prepared for the American Society for Quality (ASQ) lean six sigma green belt at the end of the class. The focus will be on practical applications in addition to the art, theory, principles, statistics and science of these concepts. The foundation of the class will be understanding the key contributions of each of these approaches.
