COMMRC 2285 - SCIENCE AND ITS RHETORICMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 This seminar will explore the following questions: what role, if any, do rhetorical interpretations play in the discourse of science? Can the acceptance of scientific ideas be exhaustively explained in terms of epistemic criteria alone, or is there always necessarily recourse to rhetorical topoi? These questions will be explored through exemplary cases chosen from both the natural and the human sciences. Academic Career: Graduate Course Component: Seminar Grade Component: Grad LG/SNC Basis
