BIOSC 2350 - EVOLUTIONMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 This course is an introduction to biological evolution. The first half of the course will address the history of evolutionary theory, inheritance and variation, population genetics, natural selection, speciation, and adaptation. The second part will cover evolutionary history, with an emphasis on the fossil record, phylogenetics, and the origin of evolutionary novelties, including molecular characters. Emphasis throughout will be placed on how the history of life is studied in the context of scientific methodology.
