FMST 1865 - WRITING THE ORIGINAL SERIESMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 Episodic stories can be traditional TV sitcoms or drama series, serialized narratives meant to be binged on streaming networks, independent web series, even stories told through a series of Snapchat stories. As different as they are structurally, they all have similar challenges - the writer must create a rich, interesting world and populate it with compelling characters in order to keep an audience watching from episode to episode. In this course students with basic screenwriting skills will apply those skills to the creation of an episodic series, from pitching the series through developing the story arc to writing the pilot episode.
