INFSCI 1050 - BEHAVIORAL MODELSMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 Examines the roles of models and theories in science, and surveys several approaches to modeling cognitive and behavioral phenomena. Topics include: mathematical modeling, representational modeling, expert/novice differences and user models, psychological and computer simulation methods, the roles of analogy, metaphor, learning, and other cognitive processes in the development and use of cognitive models, and the role of models in the development of science and scientific theory.
