ARC 1153 - EARLY CHRISTIAN AND BYZANTINE ARCHITECTUREMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 This course on early Christian and Byzantine architecture balances modern scholarship on the origins and development of church-building with a conceptual study of what worship is and how it has been housed. Individual topics of study vary from Rome and Constantinople, to "underground" churches, to the splendor of the basilicas built for Constantine and Justinian.
