FMST 1523 - FILM WESTERNMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 This course examines the meaning of the Western to a mass audience. More specifically we will explore the genre's popularity, the way it represents the past, the concept of the mythic hero, changes in the genre over time, and the contributions of specific directors. We will consider how the Western adapts to changing concepts of America. This is a Critical Studies course and counts for Category II towards the Film and Media Studies major and minor.
