CLRES 2120 - COST EFFCTVNS ANAL HLTH CAREMinimum Credits: 1 Maximum Credits: 1 Provides an introduction to and develops technical skills in the economic evaluation of health care programs. A brief intro to the economic foundation of cost effectiveness and cost benefit analysis is followed by an examination of the methodologies involved in performing cost effectiveness analyses. Topics include: definitions of cost and benefits, effect of the perspective of the analysis, calculation of cost-effectiveness ratios, performance of sensitivity analysis, discounting of costs and benefits, and discussions of current controversies in conduct of cost-effectiveness analysis.
