ADMPS 2053 - ORGANIZATION AND MANAGEMENT EFFECTIVENESSMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 This is one of a two course series (ADMPS 2053 & 2054) for M.Ed. students in the higher education management specialization. The Organization and Management effectiveness course provides students a professional foundation of the practical application of managerial skills required of first and second-line supervisors in higher education. Course topics devote special attention to: the mission and challenges of HE organizations, organization structures and environments, responsibilities and expectations of managers, financial management, budget development and oversight, time and resource management, process improvement, the role of technology in complex organizations, decision making and communicating. In addition, the course will explore the role of supervisors in budget creation and resource management within a broader functional and institutional context.
