HIST 1762 - RELIGION AND POLITICS OF THE MIDDLE EASTMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 This course focuses on the role of religion in the politics of the contemporary Middle East. A general survey of the role of religion in the history of the region, and a cross regional historical-comparative view of the relationship between religious phenomena and political movements and institutions set the context for an investigation of the politics of religion in recent developments in the region.
