LEGLST 0080 - INTRODUCTION TO LEGAL STUDIESMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 Provides students with an overview of the structure and operation of American law and legal systems. Offers examples of the type of topics treated in depth in substantive legal studies courses. Introduces the student to the nature, functions, limitations, and operations of law as an institution in modern society. Various jurisprudential approaches are examined, and selected problems of law, power, morality and social and economic stratification are studied. Heavy emphasis is placed on the institution.
