ADMJ 1300 - INTRODUCTION TO CORRECTIONSMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 Introduces various historical and philosophical approaches to corrections. Course explores origins of correctional institutions and evolution of correctional practices in contemporary society. Emphasis on modifications of institutional practices in contemporary society and development of new strategies as alternatives to incarceration. Various methodologies applicable to homogeneous and heterogeneous population groupings of offenders are examined taking into account individual characteristics and differences.
