ENGFLM 1685 - FILM MUSICALMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 This course studies the musical as an example of a popular art in the age of mass culture, looking at the aesthetics and history of this genre as it relates to the culture that produced it. We will be looking at musicals with pleasure but also with the goal of analyzing and understanding our reactions, and those of the mass audience.
