BUSMKT 1430 - MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS IN BRITAINMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 Marketing communications in Britain provides an understanding of the ways in which advertising is effectively planned to achieve the objectives set in the overall marketing plan. Home to the second largest global agency network, WPP - London (parent of major ad agencies Ogilvy & Mather, JWT, and Young & Rubicam, and universally recognized as the center for creative and production excellence), is an ideal place to learn about the industry that is "ad-land". Viewed from the us and elsewhere, a significant proportion of British advertising has a contempt for the hard sell, an antipathy to too much research, along with a penchant for irony and parody.
