BUS 1028 - DOING BUSINESS IN JAPANMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 The purpose of this course is to provide a broad introduction to business in Japan. Topics covered include: the Japanese economy, from post-war growth, through the 'bubble' and post-'bubble' years, to today; ongoing demographic, social/cultural, and structural change; human resource and production management; women in the workforce; and working with Japanese in a business setting. By the end of the course, students will be more knowledgeable about Japan and Japanese business, and about the opportunities and challenges facing Japanese firms and individuals working in or with Japanese firms.
