ANTH 1773 - CULTURES OF MESOAMERICAMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 A general survey of problems and cultures of Mexico and Guatemala from the time of the Spanish conquest to the present. The course will be divided into three parts; MesoAmerica at the time of the arrival of the Spaniards; the colonial transformation of the Indian population; and the contemporary position of the Indians within the Pluri-Ethnic societies of which they are part.
