ANTH 1755 - URBAN ANTHROPOLOGYMinimum Credits: 3 Maximum Credits: 3 This course outlines the origins and evolution of cities and explores their roles within their historical, social, and cultural contexts. It examines the nature of life in cities cross-culturally from the perspective of the inhabitants. Features associated with urban life--such as migration, squatter settlements, family organization, ethnicity, social stratification, social networks, and social pathologies- receive special attention.
